Greg could of not ask for a worse Christmas than what he got!! He did not get any of the gifts he wanted and he could not believe that his little brother got everything he wanted. He did get the bench set he thought he wanted but changed his mind after he thought he was going to be this great wrestling star. I thought it was funny how he got that horrible sweater and the other person got his video game. Oh well maybe next year will be better!
I thought this chapter was so funny. The wrestling that the kids were doing during lunch time had me laughing . This reminded me of when I was a kid and would do some of the moves I saw on WWF now WWE. I thought of my little brother when they were wearing the wrestling outfits. He used to wrestle in high school.
The Christmas list was so funny and it reminded me of asking my mom for different stuff hoping I would get most of what I ask for. I thought it was funny that he ask his uncle for what he wants when his parents won't get it. The play of The Wizard of Oz was so funny. He did not want to do it at all. He was forced by his mom to do it. No one remembered their lines and Greg got the part of a tree. The night of the play was so funny. The trees stops singing because he would not sign and at the end, Greg started the apple throwing fest at the star of the play. November was one of my favorite parts of the book. I thought Greg's diary entry for October was funny. His friend still lives life like he is still in elementary school. Who wears a costume to a haunted house? I love how Rowley parents change his cool costume to something totally different on Halloween night. Halloween night was wild and crazy. Greg gets a new costume but it comes at a cost. His candy plan was almost ruined but he was able to save it until his dad wet him up. Oh well, there is always next year!
I had a chance to read a little bit of the first chapter and it seems like to me Greg is not liking middle school at all. He tries hard to not assiocate himself with the "nerdy" kids. He worries if girls will like him and if he will get beat up by the bigger, tougher kids. Greg is kind of sure of himself but still is wonders if that is good enough. I think this will be a fun look at what it is like to be the kid trying to fit in.
