This week we started to work on our mural for our upcoming presentation for Black History Month! We are honoring the life, contributions, and times of Muhammad Ali. We are so excited about this and cannot wait to share more with everyone soon. Please enjoy the photos of our progress so far!
This week we had a special treat!! Our guest teacher is an artist and brought in some of his paintings to show us how you can use light to paint a picture. It was so much fun looking at and talking about his paintings.( The one with the boxing gloves are not part of his collection but the cover of a book.)
This week we had fun learning about how fractions and decimals are alike. We watched a few Brain Pop videos about fractions and decimals and had fun taking a few of the quizzes. We also had fun with our guest teacher from Project SEED and learned all about the Cartesian Plane and had fun using it to play a great fly catching game. We had so much fun this week learning all about fractions, light, and plants. We had our guest teacher from Project SEED show us many ways we can have fun with fractions. We also had a chance to look at and play with fraction tiles and find the equivalents of different fractions. We had fun learning more about light and how it travels through space! We watched a video on light and learned about absorbing and reflection of light. This week we also had fun celebrating our classmates birthday! We had cupcakes, juice, and sing songs.
We had a chance to look at our plants and noticed how big the beans were have grown. We are so happy to see our plants and beans grow. I think we are going to get a chance to see the whole life cycle of our plants! This week we had fun with Project SEED and we are learning so much about fractions and shapes. He helps us with different strategies to help us improve our math skills.
We had a chance to go to Zellerbach Hall and watched the Peking Circus. We had a chance to learn about who they are and what they do. We learned a little about Chinese New Year and what it takes to be in this kind of circus. This week we started to learn about light and how light moves through space. We went outside to play around with mirrors and sunlight. It is also that time of year again when we learn about comics and storyboards in art. We had so much fun and we had a chance to work on and develop our own story lines. |
