Wow! This week was full of math, the function machine, and learning about seeds. This was the week we had to work on our writing test. This time we were thinking about which type of seed would be good for a school garden: rice or wheat? We had fun learning about how rice and wheat grow. We again learning about how to write a 5 paragraph essay. We also started our hydroponic tubs too. I am so excited to see what will happen over the next few weeks!
This week we had fun with popcorn, surverys, and crayfish. We learned about the different parts of crayfish and we even had a chance to hold them. We had a blast learning about bar graghs, tally charts, and probability. We had fun tasting popcorn and finding out how many of us love Kettle Corn. Mrs. Day made a tally chart and we will make the bar gragh next week. We learned about leaves stems, and roots by looking at our seeds that started to become seedlings through the week. We wrote down our observation and figured out the different parts of our seedlings. We talked about mass and learned about comparing the mass of dry seeds and wet seeds. We used sponges to demostrate how this happens with seeds. I am glad to be back and writing about all of the awesome things we do in class. We are so excited to have snails and crayfish as part of our new science unit. We had a chance to look at them and talk about how we are going take care of them. We aslo had a chance to plant different kinds of seed in mini spouters with our partners. Later we will observe our seeds and draw what we noticed. Math was fun! We are learning about probability and had a chance to learn about bar graphs, tally charts, and basic probability. Brain Pop Jr. help us undertand how to use a tally chart and bar graph and we made tally charts and bar graphs of our own. During our time in art class, we really enjoyed painting and making different kind of airplanes. Thank you everyone for your kind words and support during this difficult time. I am forever grateful!!
