This week was filled with fun and sun. We had fun making an interactive vocabulary wall for our science words. We also had fun learning about numbers using Dot Talks and we made claims about what will happen if you soak seeds? We had a chance to draw in art and we had a chance to learn about how we compare and order numbers with a Brain Pop Jr. video. This week we had a chance to learn more about fruit and had a science talk about it. We learned that a banana is a fruit and we had a chance to see the seeds in the fruit. We also had a chance to look at sprouting seeds.
We had fun writing and drawing about our small moments in our lives and in math we had fun learning about place value. Art was so much fun! We love art!! This week we learned about place value and how we could use place value for adding. We also learned and honored the 4 Little girls of the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing and Mexican Independence. We learned about civil right, segregation, and that we all have a common struggle and goal. This week was full of discovery and we had fun learning about fruit and seeds. We had a chance to look at different kinds of fruit and observe what they look like when we opened them. We made predications and claims on how many seeds would be in our sugar snap peas. We made a graph and analysis our data. We love fruit!!
The first week of school was fun! We had fun playing "I Spy" and Synonym Bingo! We finally had a chance to meet Octo and watched some great videos about coming back to school on Brain Pop!! Mrs.Day read some great books: Of Thee I Sing by Barack Obama and The African American Alphabet: D is for Drinking Gourd! We discussed the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington and Martin Luther King Jr.
